Q. How often does Columbia County Magazine come out?
A. Every month, rain or shine.
Q. Is your magazine just for people who live in Columbia County?
A. No. We offer a mix of stories that readers anywhere can enjoy. A few subjects, like politics, are mostly local, but the majority of them, like our home, garden, food and sports sections, entertain readers from all over. People love to read about the South!
Q. Where can I buy it?
A. All over. We’re sold in more than 90 metro Augusta retail outlets, including Barnes & Noble, Wal-Mart, Publix, Kroger, Bi-Lo, Food Lion, Walgreens and dozens of convenience stores, restaurants, apparel stores, gift shops and other local retailers. Subscriptions are up to 85% off the cover price, though, so it saves money to subscribe!
Q. Do you ever look for story ideas from readers?
A. Yes. We love to hear from our readers. In fact, some of our favorite stories were developed from ideas submitted to us. We may not be able to cover everything, but we do our best to write about the topics we feel would interest our readers the most.
Q. Do you accept stories from freelance writers?
A. Yes. We’re always on the lookout for talented writers and new story ideas. If you’re a professional writer and would like to submit a query or story, please e-mail it to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Q. How can I get an activity listed on your calendar of events?
A. Our monthly calendar includes both local and regional events that are open to the public. If you have an event that you’d like us to consider publishing, please submit your information and any photos at least 60 days in advance.
Q. How can I get my event’s photos published in your “Out & About” section?
A. We frequently cover area events if we receive advance notice and have a photographer available. We cannot always guarantee this, though, so it’s best for organizations to submit their own photos, along with the corresponding identification. Events are published on a space-available basis.
Q. If I buy several copies of an issue, can I get a discount?
A. Yes. Discounts are available at our office. Purchases of 25-49 magazines are reduced to $2.95 each. Purchases of 50 or more magazines are $2.25 each. (The regular cover price is $3.95).
Q. Can I buy back issues of Columbia County Magazine?
A. Yes. Select back issues are $5.95 (plus $5.50 shipping, if mailed). You may purchase them at our office or place your order by phone. We accept MasterCard and Visa.
Q. What do I need to do to receive a donation or sponsorship?
A. We proudly and actively support many worthy community organizations and events. Any requests or proposals should be submitted to us on your organization’s letterhead at least 60 days before an event. Please keep it brief — one page will do.
Q. Is Columbia County Magazine affiliated with any other magazine?
A. No. We are a locally owned and operated business that opened here in 2004. With the county’s immense growth and diversity, we thought it was the perfect time to offer a lively new look at life in today’s South. We hope you enjoy it!
