Some people are innovators at solving problems and bringing positive change to others. Mike Frazier is one of them.
Since founding Peak nearly 20 years ago, Mike not only has been providing alternative staffing and employment solutions locally, nationally, and internationally. He has been helping solve problems in the community by founding Tee It Up for Kids, which supports organizations providing foundational support to abused and disadvantaged children throughout the area, and Skulligan, which addresses the increased need in mental health and well-being support for men.
My wife, Star, is my inspiration. My dad is my mentor,” Mike says. “He taught me to never underestimate the power of encouragement, strength, ambition, courage, and the ability to make people laugh and feel important.”
So, what advice would he give to someone looking to become an entrepreneur?
“Ground yourself. Pause for self-reflection. You may be highly motivated to succeed, yet are you open to risk and failure? Are you creative and communicative? Ambition is no replacement for right action, so find a mentor or earn your stripes in apprenticeship if necessary. Launch prepared and with a purpose. Respect everyone, from the shop floor to the top floor. Everyone matters.”
With all his accomplishments, how does Mike measure success?
“Being able to wake with gratitude and drop into bed at night exhausted from a day well spent helping others recognize and reach their full potential. The magic happens when you stop focusing on your own success and help others find theirs.”
