David Beagle, senior project manager of SD Clifton Construction, understands that stress is part of the job. However, he believes there is only one way to counteract it.
“We have to have fun with what we do,” he says. “If we can’t laugh and enjoy it, then it’s not worth it.”
Joining the staff in the spring of 2026, David was attracted to the team dynamic of the company, which is a leading general contractor in the Southeast. He believes this approach gives every employee the opportunity to succeed.
While David always has enjoyed building things, working with other people is the most rewarding aspect of his position.
“I like watching people succeed,” he says. “I like playing a part in helping them provide for their families. We follow AIA policies and procedures, and when you do that, it’s not hard to succeed.”
David, who oversees projects from the Augusta office, appreciates the supportive and Christian atmosphere that Steve and Rob Clifton, have created within their company.
Working with 20 to 80 people on any given project, David leads by example to help the company meet their clients’ needs. “Everyone wants to be treated with dignity and respect, whether they’re a team member or a client,” he says. “We’re trying to bring many entities together as a team. If you set a high standard, then people don’t mind working toward it.”
In his spare time, David enjoys spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren; hunting; fishing; traveling and visiting the Great Lakes in his native northern Michigan once a year.
