Some people find their calling in an office — Eben Gray found his in the trees.
Eben founded his tree service in 1995 while attending college, originally as a way to help cover tuition costs. After earning his nursing degree from the Medical College of Georgia in 1996, he worked as an oncology nurse while continuing to grow the business on the side.
Before long, he realized his true passion was working outdoors — climbing trees, operating equipment and working directly with customers. Nearly three decades later, Eben remains actively involved in the day-to-day operations, still spending time in the field alongside his crew.
That hands-on approach helped establish the high standards Eben Gray’s Tree Service is known for today. By owning and operating his own equipment rather than relying on subcontractors, Eben has built a reputation as a trusted name throughout the CSRA. He also expanded the business to include a plant health care division, helping customers keep their landscapes healthy and thriving.
Eben and his family are deeply invested in the local community. His wife served as a teacher at Greenbrier High School and continues to volunteer throughout the CSRA. Their daughter is an equine veterinarian, and their son is completing his master’s degree in Forest Business at the University of Georgia. Both plan to return to the CSRA to work, raise their families and continue serving the community they call home.
For Eben, success comes down to simple principles: doing honest work, charging fair prices and treating every property like his own. Nearly 30 years later, those values still define the company.
